Festival Director

"Creating a space for young musicians from around the globe. Fostering encounters between cultures and generations. Together, weaving the fabric of the future. Building doors where there are walls. Clearing paths where there are borders.“

Music connects.

FIt brings together friends and strangers alike, under the umbrella of the International Musiktage from spring through late summer for more than 25 years. Since then, 260 musicians from various countries gather each year in Starnberg, Germany, and Seefeld, Austria.

The Musiktage Starnberg and Seefeld are a festival series for world-class, highly talented young artists. Every year, the concerts that feature the elite of classical music in an intimate, family-like setting draw thousands of listeners and music lovers from all over the world.

For the young musicians the final concerts of the International Musiktage are moments filled with both joy and nerves—where they step into the spotlight and seize their opportunity to shine.

Starnberger Musiktage

„Music is our powerful tool. Its language is universal, its foundation is community. Music is action. It must move. Music is a magical light: It dispels the shadows between us.“

By the lakeside.

Every year renowned teachers and selected young artists gather to celebrate cultural exchange across borders. With over 260 young participants aged 6 to 26, the program is as challenging as it is diverse, including lectures, individual lessons, and professional workshops, alongside a digital platform for ongoing exchange. The International Musiktage Starnberg has become an important stepping stone for young artists to grow musically, refine their personal style, and gain extensive stage experience.

The orchestral, chamber, and solo concerts at the end of the festival are its crown jewel, drawing large audiences year after year. Music lovers, companies, and sponsors gather by the idyllic shores of Lake Starnberg to witness these unique, forward-looking musical encounters.
